Is this belief limiting your potential?

We are often the last to hear what we say to ourselves.  We often repeat certain things for so long that we have accepted them as reality.  Fish see water last as that old saying goes.

Yesterday I was working at my other job.  I dropped something and the cap broke so I informed my manager.  She tried to fix it as I had which did not work.  The product was still good but not able to be sold to the buying public.  She asked me if I wanted it.  Out of my mouth without even thinking came these words:  “It doesn’t seem right that I should be rewarded for breaking something.”  That was obviously an unconscious rote belief that was running me.

I didn’t drop it or break it on purpose.  Each of us in the department drop things from time to time.  Sometimes product containers break and sometimes they don’t.  My conscious mind then kicked into gear internally.  That product was on my purchase list to try.  However, I still couldn’t accept it by allowing myself to speak up and change those words.

Later, being the coach I am, I started to examine where else in my life that limiting belief may be causing problems in my life.  I obviously learned that belief in my youth at some point.

Do you have that belief?  Do you think you can’t receive what you would like because of perceived mistakes or imperfections?  On the flip side, do you blame others for your own choices – conscious or unconscious?  Those ways of thinking and being represent a fixed mindset and limited possibilities.

What if everything is an opportunity for growth and learning?  What if a test score or test results are not meant to be emblazoned tattoos on one’s forehead that must be borne throughout life?  Conversely, what if stellar scores are not meant to be used as coasters but rather as benchmarks instead?  What if we are all meant to have a little of both from time to time in life to further our joy, growth and progress?

Everything you want in and for your life requires that you are able to receive it in body, mind and spirit: own it, be grateful for it and know you are already worthy of it.  God created you as an already worthy co-creator and flows through you every moment of every day.

How good a receiver are you?  Do you act on opportunities and ideas with gratitude as though you already believe in and embody positive results?

Intentions and the Domino Effect

Everything happens because you set intentions. After that, it is up to you to follow your guidance and take inspired action – consistently. If you have doubts, fears or other issues that stand in the way of you moving forward, Spirit will work with you so you become the energy of receiving that which you desire. This also applies to your purpose.

If you are thinking the way to get around this is to not set goals or intentions – think again. God is inside you. When you’re happy, God is happy. Your Soul a/k/a you, came here to grow and be more God-like. Since you have free will, you can change your mind and choose differently at any time. However, as long as your intention(s) and purpose remain the same and you keep moving forward, your course is on target.

By the way, even if you change your current intention, another one will take its place, and the whole process starts anew. Along your path you will be called to move beyond your comfort zone and change some habits that no longer serve you. Such is life.

God puts the dreams in your heart. This is what ignites your every cell to say YES! I want that in my life. Or, YES! I want that for the world. However, if it also feels like a stretch, that’s a good thing. Your intuition is your GPS from God and your Soul.

Let’s use the Wright Brothers as an example. They had a dream in their hearts to create a flying machine. Where did that come from? God, of course. It didn’t matter that it was a stretch or that they failed many times. That was the domino effect removing obstacles to the fruition of their dream. They continued to follow their internal GPS, and voila! We now have the airplane. Thank you Wright Brothers for weathering your storms and sticking with your dreams and purpose.

Spirit gives clues and knocks softly to help guide you. This is where your intuition comes in. Spirit communicates with you in ways that only you will understand. You are free to interpret these signs with shadow or light. In your heart, however, you always know the path you are being guided to take. Your task is to muster the courage to take it and keep moving forward.

Here’s an example from my life. I used to be a consultant for a financial-services software corporation. My intuition was hounding me to leave that job and create a business of my own. Having always been in the corporate sector, this was a huge stretch for me. My fear and shadow spoke louder than Spirit’s voice so I ignored that call for two years. Eventually my resistance created a health scare that was loud and very clear. So I finally listened and moved onto the path of my Soul’s purpose for being here.

If you resist your softer guidance, Spirit will begin to knock louder as time goes on. The process from then on is the same. Listen and move forward with faith, courage and gratitude or the knocks may get stronger. However, that doesn’t mean the path will always be paved with rose petals. Life happens no matter what path you choose.

There is no match for having a passion and enthusiasm for life and living that is fueled by a higher source. Fuel to the heart is what I call it. When we let God/Spirit/our Soul IN, the feeling is total ignition, full steam-ahead. How does it get better than that? It’s called living your bliss from the inside out.

Embrace your calling. Only you can know what that means.

Resolving to Succeed in the New Year? Help is Here!

“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.”

Albert Einstein

How many times have you set goals or resolutions for the New Year and not followed through to success? How many times have you succeeded?

My hope for you is that you succeeded more often than not. The trouble often encountered is sustaining the success you achieve.  Studies have shown that it takes anywhere from 21 to 90 days to create a new habit.  Depending on how long the old behavior has been ingrained in your mind and lifestyle, it may take even longer.  One thing is certain, however, it always takes a firm heart-felt decision on your part to see you through to the success you desire.

Ask yourself these questions before you begin:

  • What do I really want?
  • Why do I want it?
  • How will I feel when I get it?

Once you are very clear on your what, why and the feeling of having it, you are ready to move forward. Build a plan of action and stick with it.  Get help from a “buddy” or a coach to keep you on track.

Next, think of your life as a movie. How many roles have you played so far in this movie called your life?  By roles I mean jobs, careers, relationships, hobbies, accomplishments, etc. – essentially anything in which you are or were able to place an “I am” in front of it.

Now think of this new resolution as a new role in your life. Act as if you are preparing for that new role in your life as an actor does.  They gain or loose weight; they get in shape; they learn a new language or skill; they speak to people who have already experienced this new role or the exact person they are about to portray.  In other words, they immerse themselves in the role as if it were their life.

Well guess what? This is your life.  Just because it’s only one aspect doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it all you’ve got.  Everything in life is temporary.  Why not make the changes as much fun as possible?

Sure actors may get millions of dollars for the roles they play, but that’s where your WHY comes in. What’s it worth to you to achieve this goal and succeed?  How will you feel if you don’t?

Only you can muster the energy and desire to create the results in your life that will make you feel the way you want to feel.

You deserve the best because you are the best. God does not create mistakes.  God creates opportunities for you to be the best you choose to be.

The choice is always yours. That’s why God gave you free will regardless of what appears to go on around you or in the world.  Focus and belief are your tickets to success.  Tap into your why, focus on the feeling of having it now, and keep moving forward to the role you choose for your life.

Make a list of all the successes you have experienced in your life and keep an ongoing journal of them. No matter how small, every movement forward toward your goals is a success – especially if it makes you feel good about yourself.

To your fabulous life!

Enjoy a blessed and joyful New Year,

Cheryl

Look for the Rainbow…

I’m sure you’ve heard the question: What came first, the chicken or the egg?

Have you ever had an intuitive hit and then “it” happened? Well what came first? The intuitive hit or the event letting you know it was on its way to you?

Some faiths teach that God places the dreams and creative ideas in our hearts and minds. Some quantum physicists tell us that everything is already created and that we just have to keep moving in the direction of what we dream to receive it. Other theorists have stated our existence and everything in it is part of a hologram and thoughts, ideas, emotions and things float by our awareness and we choose what to focus on believing it is all part of us and our reality.

What do you believe is possible for your life and your children? Do you believe that ADHD is real? Do you believe that a child or anyone cannot succeed without specific credentials? Many of the societal memes are proving to be just that – collective belief myths.

“Two roads diverged in a yellow wood…I took the one less traveled, and that has made all the difference.” – Robert Frost

A recent episode of the Katie Couric Show featured a Father/Author of an autistic young adult. The Dad is an executive who created a program for disabled young people at the corporation where he works. This idea came from his worry about what would happen to his son after he passed on. This program is thriving and spreading to other companies as well.

What came first: this man’s purpose to help disabled young people thrive or his autistic son’s birth?

Here’s one less deep example from my life. When I traveled as a consultant for a financial-services software company, I got an intuitive knowing that I would get a scorpion in my room on an upcoming trip to Tucson. It was so strong that I asked about scorpions when I checked in to find out how to avoid them.

Sure enough, one evening when I was working in my room on my computer, a scorpion showed up. Doing the stereotypical female response, I jumped on the bed with the phone and called the front desk. Two young staff members came and removed it.

So here are some questions to ponder:
• Did the intuitive hit I got before leaving for Tucson plant the seed that caused me to focus on that potential outcome which caused it to happen?
• Was that outcome already a forgone conclusion for me for whatever reason and my intuition was warning me to be on the lookout for it to keep me safe and create the smoothest path through it?
• Did they happen simultaneously?
• If I had ignored the intuitive hit about the scorpion as having no meaning at all, would another reality have emerged for me in Tucson that did not include a scorpion in my hotel room?

While this is a seemingly unimportant event in anyone’s life, this example is transferable to any event in anyone’s life that involves intuition.

Your focus is part of your creative process – consciously and unconsciously. Distractions draw your attention away from what you want to create. The Dad I mentioned earlier focused on solutions rather than the problems associated with autism.

“A human being is a creature who has received the order to become God.” – Saint Basil

What this means to me is to be a creator. Co-create with God by letting the power of God flow through you and out into the world.

What do you want to create for your life?

What do your children (if you have any) want for their lives?

Everything is temporary and everything is a gift. So why not enjoy life as if it were a long string of events at Disney? Some will scare us and some will thrill us. Some will have a broader purpose such as the father who created programs for disabled young adults or me and others spreading the word that certain health “conditions” only exist because of a toxic food supply and environment.

In the end, will it really matter which one happened first as long as you followed your guidance from God as best you could and enjoyed the rides as best you could? It is said that love is all we take with us when we leave this realm. So I believe it would help to know if it enhances our ability to love and be loved.

“If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

Life has become challenging for many people during this time of great transition on our planet. Focus on solutions. Forgive yourself and others. Take time to breathe, recharge and rest. Follow your own intuition and create and receive miracles from God because they happen all the time.

You just have to pay attention.

For example, yesterday there were rainbows in the clouds. No rainstorm; no typical rainbow that went across the sky – just pieces of rainbows in the clouds that kept changing shapes and colors. It was magnificent! I have pictures, but unfortunately can’t upload them yet due to technical issues. My point in sharing this example without the benefit of the pictures is to inspire you to remember that inside every cloud there is a rainbow waiting to emerge if you just pay attention, believe, and keep moving forward.

Wishing you all the best.

Enjoy infinite blessings,

Cheryl

Come In Out Of The Rain

As I look back on my life, for some strange reason it seems as though I ignored Divine Guidance at times.  Who would be silly enough to do that you might ask?  Almost sounds like a child pushing the boundaries of authority to stretch their limits, doesn’t it?

Well working toward my goal to loose the remainder of my weight and stay firm, fit and healthy, I planned to go for a walk one morning recently.  It looked cloudy in the distance, but I thought “I can make it before it rains.”  “Dark skies don’t always mean rain.”

So I went out to walk.  After only about five minutes or so it started to look really dark where I was headed.  I asked my Angels if I should turn around and head home.  I love to work with the Angels.  They always steer me in the right direction even if a part of me thinks it knows better sometimes.  I had the thought that I should turn back.

Well, what do you think I did?

A part of me thought, “I don’t see rain up ahead.  I can make get my walk in.”  So I kept going.

The human part of me that wanted or needed concrete 3rd dimension proof was waiting for a sign to confirm Divine Guidance.  Now doesn’t it seem unwise that I or anyone would accept human signs above Divine signs or intuition, especially someone such as myself who has great faith?

Guess what happened?

Not more than five minutes later, I saw rain way up ahead and felt a few sprinkles.  So I turned around and headed for home.  I didn’t make it home before it started raining cats and dogs though.  It was truly a torrential downpour.  The Earth was happy since here in the Tampa area we really need the rain.

All I could do was laugh.  If I had turned around at the exact moment I was guided to do so, I would have made it home before the rain started.

What’s the lesson here?  God knows a lot more than any human ever could.  Follow your intuition and come in from the rain before you get all wet!

Where in your life is God telling you to come in before it starts to rain?
