There’s an old saying about growing up to be a doctor, lawyer or Indian Chief. As time evolves, so do the aspirations of young people. The model of going to college for a good education which will ensure success works for many but usually brings with it large student loans.
Today’s youth have different aspirations. I’ve met middle school students who want to be basketball stars; doctors; rap musicians; fashion designers, and the list goes on to be as unique as the individual child and their life experiences.
What if children were taught to think outside the box and go inside their hearts for inspiration?
Disney has a job title of “Imagineer” throughout their many companies. “… Imagineering is letting your imagination soar and then engineering it down to earth.” – Taken from a Time magazine ad from February 16, 1942, titled “The Place They Do Imagineering”
A couple of Adobe’s many unique job titles include “Platform Evangelist” and “Developer Evangelist”.
How cool are all those titles? Can you imagine waking up each morning knowing you are an “Imagineer” or a software “Evangelist”? What difference would that make to your attitude and possibilities available to you? As a testament to that theory, just look at the phenomenal products and experiences created by Adobe and Disney.
I decided to play with this a little. Having already taken on the title of “The Sensitive Child Advocate”, I’ve added “Wellbeing Evangelist” and “World Wellness Imagineer.” Doing this elevates your energy to higher possibilities. From a quantum physics standpoint, what greater things can be attracted because of this higher level of aspiration?
I invite you to take a moment to play with this as well. Be inspired from the inside out. It’s fun!
Enjoy being you. Imagine the possibilities…
